Trigg County Preschool/Head Start consists of four preschool classrooms. These classrooms serve no more than 20 students, a 1:10 ratio, with two adults in every classroom. The children attend preschool Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a blended program with Audubon Area Head Start.
Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Oct. 1st of the upcoming school year to be considered for the enrollment process. Kentucky's preschool education programs are available for all four-year-old children who are income eligible; all three and four-year-old children with development delays and disabilities, regardless of income. Eligibility is subject to income and/or program guidelines.
Trigg County Preschool uses Creative Curriculum. Children are assessed three times per year and progress is reported to parents/guardians. Home visits are made twice a year as well as two Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Each week, a P.A.W.S. folder is sent home. Materials include a weekly newsletter, monthly calendar, information on parent involvement, upcoming events and activities, and the curriculum currently being taught.
