Trigg County Public Schools is committed to ensuring our students have the 21st-century skills necessary to be college/career ready - the foundation for success in life. But we need your help!
Currently, the college/career readiness rate of our high school students is 70.3%. In support of our efforts, the Kentucky Department of Education and the Department for Workforce Development have set aside the month of March for Operation Preparation - a community-based advising initiative. Locally, we will conduct our efforts the week of March 23-27.
During Operation Preparation, trained volunteer community advisors will meet one-on-one with 8th and 10th grade students in a public setting at school.
One way you can assist is by volunteering a small amount of your time to be an Operation Preparation community advisor. If you would like to mentor middle school students, we ask that you commit to spending two hours at the school if possible. This will allow for you to hear student presentations and then mentor with some students individually.
If you would like to participate - go to the "Forms & Links" Section of our website and you will find the forms to be filled out and send to Cammie Evans or Beth Sumner at the Trigg County Public Schools Central Office and also there is a link for the Training Video.
We look forward to working with you to make a difference in the lives of our children. In order to plan effectively for this event, we would like to have your commitment by February 13th. If you have any questions, please contact Cammie Evans or Beth Sumner at Trigg County Public Schools.
